At the age of three, Theater maker Ilay den Boer moved from Israel to the Netherlands. As he grew up, he noticed increasing tensions between his Dutch and Israeli families. His book The Promised Feast deals with loyalty conflicts on Israel that occur in many Dutch Jewish families.
